European Border Breakers Awards Announces 2014 Winners

Each year the European Border Breakers Awards honors the success of 10emerging artists who reached broad audiences outside of their own countries with their first album in the past year. Each winner is presented with an award during next year’s Eurosonic fest, where one is presented with a Public Choice Award, based on online voting during November and December. The 2014 European Border Breakers Award winners:

  • Lukas Graham (Denmark)
  • Woodkid (France)
  • Zedd (Germany)
  • Asgeir (Iceland)
  • Kodaline (Ireland)
  • Jacco Gardner (Netherlands)
  • Envy (Norway)
  • Icona Pop (Sweden)
  • Disclosure (UK) 
The winners will receive their awards in a televised ceremony hosted by TV personality and musician Jools Holland at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands, on 15 January 2014. The ceremony – including performances by most of the winning acts – will be broadcast by Dutch National Television (NTR) and will also receive European coverage through TV channels and radio stations. It will also be live streamed on Youtube.
