Facebook has been messaging Page administrators to let them know  they are discontinuing their  "official" Music Player: "The Facebook Music Player app is being replaced with better ways to  incorporate music on your Page".


The move could give a boost to third party Facebook tab apps that host streaming music including RootMusic, ReverbNation and Bandcamp. "Facebook could be developing its own basic Page tab application to allow  musicians to share music," speculated Inside Facebook. Alternatively, it may be trying to avoid  copyright issues…".
