Companies that make music-related apps for Facebook have updated and rebranded them as needed. But there are many more social media services that musicians use for which there are new or updated Facebook Timeline apps. These include Pinterest, Livestream and MailChimp as well as function-specific apps for customizing HTML pages, creating discussion forums and featuring fans.
If folks find this information of use, please let me know and I'll keep searching out useful Facebook Apps. I'm currently focusing on apps that can be used for one's Band Page but there are also apps that are account specific that will be of use to artists that are using individual accounts rather than Pages. For example, StumbleUpon has introduced an app for individual account timelines that doesn't currently have an option to assign it to managed pages.
Woobox: Pinterest & Static HTML
Woobox is a Facebook App maker, though you'll also see the phrase "custom Facebook tab", that provides both free and paid options.
For those who want to have a Pinterest section, Woobox has a free Pinterest Tab for Facebook Pages that gives you a lot of display options plus visitor analytics.
Another extremely useful free option is their Static HTML Facebook Page Tab. You set up a tab (a subsection or page) that can hold static HTML featuring any content you wish. Woobox will host and deliver your images for free.
Obviously they're hoping you'll use their paid services as well but these two free options seem especially useful to musicians.
Livestream
Livestream has created their own app, Livestream on Facebook. Their Livestream Procaster desktop app is free and you can use it to stream not only on Facebook but on livestream.com, your own site and to mobile devices.
MailChimp
MailChimp is one of the more established email newsletter solutions and they include a free option at the bottom of their pricing page. You can use their MailChimp on Facebook app to add a signup form to your page.
Fan of the Week
Fan of the Week is a pretty cool app. It picks out one fan each week from those who interact with your Page and posts the news automatically. They have an example on their app signup page.
Forum for Pages
Forum for Pages allows you to set up a discussion forum on a custom tab. Mashable's Nancy Messieh has a nice how to available to see how it works.
Future Possibilities
If people are interested I will keep searching these out. As you'll notice, some of them were previously available but have now adapted to Timeline. So, if you have an old favorite that's not currently available, you might keep an eye on their homepage or blog since most such apps are likely to switch over.
