Former Pandora, Sirius XM executive Chris Harrison has been named CEO of the Digital Media Association (DiMA).

DiMA is the trade association representing the legal and policy interests of Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Pandora, Napster, Spotify and other digital media distributors. Harrison joins as DiMA members are battling with groups representing songwriters and publishers over US copyright reform and royalty rates.Prior to joining DiMA, Harrison was Vice President of Music Business Affairs for Sirius XM Radio, and previously was Vice President of Business Affairs and Assistant General Counsel at Pandora.“The innovative member companies that comprise DiMA and enable access to the greatest diversity of content are a critical part of the creative industry’s value chain, paying billions of dollars in royalties and license fees to content creators each year,” said harrison in a statement. “As the pace of innovation continues to increase, it’s more important than ever that all stakeholders work together, and I look forward to leading that effort and ensuring consumers continue to enjoy and engage meaningfully with creative content.”
