While touring is one of the best ways to do this, financing such a venture is no easy task. Here we look at how an independent band can get the funding they need to launch as successful tour.

In this latest post to MusicThinkTank, Hannah Whittenly looks at how artists can obtain the necessary funding to hit the road on tour.

"There are even some grants available that don’t require you to fill out any paperwork. For example, the Awesome Foundation gives up to a $1000 for any endeavor just because they like it. Many grants that are available for bands require that the band have the necessary tax status to qualify. This means that you would have to fill out the appropriate forms for the IRS to obtain a 501(c)(3) status. Check for any grants that are available for funding your band."
