Reed MIDEM today announced that Midem 2014 has been rescheduled to 1-4 February. Learning of the strong chance that the Grammy Awards will take place on the January 26th next year, to avoid key televised sports events, Midem organizers decided to reschedule the date of the 2014 international music business trade event.

Bruno Crolot, Midem Director, comments, “We didn’t want to take the risk of overlapping with the Grammy Awards as many of our clients attend this important music industry event. After checking with a great number of our attendees that they were favorable to this change, we decided to reschedule Midem 2014 to 1–4 February. So that people can re-organise their agendas we are announcing the new dates as soon as possible.”

Despite an aggressive effort to include tech, brands, ad agencies and live music alongside the core music business, attendance at Midem 2013 was down 7% from 2012 to 6400, according to festival organizers. At it's peak in 2005, 9,230 delegates registered for the event.
