Victory Sues EMI & Virgin Over Hawthorne Heights

Victory_3Victory Records has sued Virgin Records and EMI claiming they attempted to poach Victory’s biggest act Hawthorne Heights.  Hawthorne had filed suit in August to end their contract with Victory.Virgin

The suit filed yesterday charges Virgin and parent EMI with "tortuous interference with contractual relations" and seeks a$10 million in compensatory and another $10 million Hawthorne_heights_1 in punitive damages.  According to the lawsuit, Victory learned on September 7th from Virgin head Jason Flom that the Hawthorne had signed with the EMI label. Victory maintains that because of the dismissal of several counts in Hawthorne Heights’ suit against Victory the band’s contract with them remains in force.
