Digital Label Anthology Mines The Obscure & Out-Of-Print

The long tail is definitely part of the business plan for Anthology Recordings which may be the first alAnthologyl digital reissue
label for rare and out-of-print
music of all eras and genres. Anthology founder Keith
Abrahamsson (an A&R exec with NYC indie label Kemado) was struck by the
conspicuous absence of obscure but influential music on most
high volume online retailers and decide to do something about it.

To
understand the scale of the label’s ambitions look at the
stylistic breadth of Anthology’s first
releases which include Pärson Sound (seminal Swedish
psych-rock – ’66-‘69), China Shop (unreleased NYC Post-Punk – ’79), African Head Charge (Dub from Adrian Sherwood’s legendary
On-U Sound label), Suicide Commandos Creativezenvplus_12(Minneapolis Punk pioneers – ’77), Moondog (unreleased Walter Schreifels Post-Hardcore project – ’90), Sainte Anthony’s Fyre (ultra-rare Jersey Hard Rock – ’70), and My Solid
Ground (Psych/Kraut Rock
from Germany – ’79).

On the Anthology
Recordings website fans can download single tracks,
full albums and even original artwork. Anthology is "not intended to be an absolute alternative to crate digging, but a
resource for music fanatics who would otherwise not hear these rare
titles".
