imeem Adds MTV Networks Programs

Clips and episodes from shows on MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Spike, and other MTV Network channels will be available free on-demand on imeem starting in February.

MTVN becomes the first major media company to make such a comprehensive selection of hits most popular programming selection of programming available via imeem. Using the site’s interactive features users will be able to add clips to their personal profiles or create video playlists as well as to form communities around the shows and characters they love. Each MTVN brand will have its own channel on imeem.

In December, imeem became the first social networking company to
offer full-length, streaming access to the entire music and video
catalogs of all four major music companies on an ad supported
basis.

favorite MTVN shows, we’re moving closer to realizing our vision of
enabling consumers to discover and express themselves in entirely new
ways with popular music and video through imeem,” said Steve Jang,
chief marketing officer of imeem. “In the coming months, we plan to
leverage growth in our ad-supported media streaming to enhance our
video offering. Adding MTVN’s amazing catalog of premium video to
imeem’s social media network is an important step towards that goal.”

MTVN’s content complements imeem’s existing video offering, which today
includes a comprehensive collection of music videos from all four major
music labels, promotional content from such television partners as
SHOWTIME, The CW Television Network and NBC, and promotional and
full-length movies from major Hollywood studios and independent
production companies.
