Live Nation Acquires Voodoo Music

voodoo music logoPromoter giant Live Nation has acquired a controlling stake in one of the nations' best known festivals, the Voodoo Music & Arts Experience. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Live Nation team” said Stephen Rehage. “Our outlooks on the festival market are aligned and we look to grow the Live Nation festival roster over the coming years.”

According to the Times Picayune, Rehage will be overseeing Live Nation's roster of 17 festivals around the U.S., including Electric Daisy, Sasquatch and now, the Voodoo Music festival. Rehage will continue to be based in New Orleans, operating from the current offices of Rehage Entertainment.

This year Voodoo will mark its 15th anniversary with a lineup that features Kid Rock, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Calvin Harris, Paramore, Bassnectar and many others.

Billboard had previously reported that Rehage was planning to sell a controlling stake in Voodoo to Robert Sillerman's SFX Entertainment, but the deal fell through before it could be completed. – via CelebityAccess
