Austin Startup “ehco” Launches As “TOMS” For The Music Industry

Screen Shot 2015-02-03 at 11.57.09 PMAustin based startup ehcoTM has launched itself as "the giving channel" for artists. With hopes of establishing themselves as the "TOMS" of the music industry, ehco empowers artists to establish a single channel where fans can learn about, engage in, and give to their philanthropic & charitable efforts by way of offering exclusive content through their marketplace. Through transparent giving to 501(c)(3) non-profits of the artist's choice, t-shirts, vinyl records, and other merchandise can become a water well or a warm plate of food for someone who needs it.

Currently in Beta, ehco founders are currently exploring the realm of possibility for the company's impact. They want the artists and their fans to know exactly where their contributions are going – to ehco, the more transparency there is in the exchange between the artists, their sales, and the injections of funds being donated to their charity of choice, the better.

In interest of fine tuning the process, ehco is starting small – offering one campaign every two weeks where limited edition merchandise will be offered by one artists donating to a particular charity or philanthropic cause. Their inaugural campaign is The Robbie Seay Band + Compassion International. The band hopes to raise $1,000 to provide a lifetime supply of clean water to at least 10 children in Haiti.
