Spotify Says It’s Responsible For 10% Of All U.S. Label Revenue

10%Spotify claims to have been responsible for 10% of all U.S. record label revenue in the first quartet of 2015. The stat came from Will Page, Spotify's director of economics during the Music Biz Conference in Nashville this week.

It's a bold claim, not entirely supported by publicly available IFPI data, who put streaming income from all services at 10.2% of U.S. label revenue.

But whether the claim is based on insider information or a bit of numerical wizardry,  it illustrates how rapidly the landscape is shifting and how important Spotify has become.
