Warner Music Responds To Songkick Concert Listing Concerns: ‘We’re still here for you”
After Songkick announced that it was shutting down its concert ticket sales division, many musicians and music marketers became concerned that Songkick's popular concert app and artist focused Tourbox service was on the way out, as well.
"We’re not going anywhere!," the Songkick concert listing team wrote yesterday in response to concerns over an announcement that its sister ticketing site had joined the startup deadpool.
Songkick claims a direct reach of 15 million concert fans globally; and delivers tour dates to Spotify, Pandora, Shazam, Soundcloud, Deezer, BBC, Bandcamp and other major music sites.
In July, the Songkick Discovery app and team became part of Warner Music Group. "Together we’ll be doubling down on our mission to improve the live experience, bring fans and artists closer together and, of course, make sure you never ever miss your favorite artists live.," the team wrote in a blog post yesterday.
"In short, Songkick and Tourbox are still here for you for all of your concert needs," the post continued. "We’re excited to keep moving fast, doing cool shit, and putting fans first. So stay tuned for exciting news coming soon."
