Direct-To-Fan Payola: Jamz Pro Pays Fans To Discover Music

Jamz Pro logoIf you're going to participate in payola, you might as well cut out the middleman. Jamz Pro has launched as a music discovery platform that puts a new spin on the relationship between fan and artist. Founder Karl Talla designed the site to enable artists to pay music lovers to listen to their songs.

"In an already crowded music scene, it’s difficult for new and aspiring artists to break through the noise and find listeners and fans,” he explains. “Jamz Pro helps level the playing field. Let’s face it, in today’s world of streaming and on-demand music, consumers can access well-known artists as well as indie artists for the same price. How can an artist just starting out compete with that?”

Talla hopes that the site’s built-in incentive will prompt fans to explore and listen to work they might not otherwise tune into through typical channels such as Pandora or Spotify.

On the flip side, Talla says that with Jamz Pro artists don’t have to worry about paying some marketing company tons of money to execute a promotional campaign that “uses bots to increase phony video views or social media engagement,” they can be certain that real people will be listening to their songs in their entirety.

Excited about how the platform could have the potential to change how emerging artists break into today’s hyper-competitive music scene, Talla added: “That’s why we feature only new artists: our goal is to connect them with consumers who will love their music.”
