Today Is Cara Duckworth’s Last Day At The RIAA ????

image from media.licdn.comFriday is the last day at the RIAA for Senior Vice President, Communications Cara Duckworth; and so far she won't tell me where she's going. Cara joined the RIAA way back n June of 2007 and was elevated to her current role 15 months ago.

Cara Duckworth will be missed. That is, unless she's going to work somewhere else in the music industry where we can all still bother her

To my fellow hacks – I mean journalists – she wrote:

I leave this gig with profound gratitude for 12 years of memories and friendships made, with new adventures in my sights (stay tuned for more on that — but for the immediate present I’m super excited to enjoy the summer with my young daughters). I’m so proud to have played a small role in writing music’s story for the last dozen years; a chapter closed with the passage of the landmark Music Modernization Act last year, a healthy industry with a positive trajectory, and the launch of my friends Mitch and Michele as CEO and COO, respectively. I’m excited to watch their leadership take root and grow. I’m also humbled by Mitch’s kind words today.

Thank you to you all for every day of this job. It’s been a privilege. I will miss you all — but please stay in touch.

I leave you with the immortal words of the sage Ariana Grande: “thank you, next."
