image from www.hypebot.comSpotify has made its upgraded $14.99 per month Family Plan available in the U.S. The streamer tipped change last month with a launch in Ireland. The streamer has reportedly also been testing the offering at a higher price in Scandinavia.

How Families Use Spotify

To celebrate the launch, Spotify analyzed how families across the U.S. are listening to music and found:

  • Sunflower – Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse by Post Malone and Swae Lee, Sicko Mode by Travis Scott and thank u, next by Ariana Grande are the top most-streamed songs in the U.S. across Family plan members
  • The most listened to artists by Spotify Premium Family subscribers in the U.S. include Post Malone, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande and Halsey

What's New?

Since launching in 2014, Spotify Premium Family has grown to millions of subscribers in more than 60 countries. The upgraded plan gives up to 6 family members living under a single roof more choices to customize music streaming, playlists and podcasts.

Highlights

  • Parental Controls: A long-requested feature on Community boards, parents will now be able to control the Explicit Content Filter setting of all other accounts on their plan.
  • Family Mix: Families will get exclusive access to a personalized playlist packed with songs the whole family enjoys. Family Mix is updated regularly and you can control who is in each session to optimize your family’s favorite shared listening moments.
  • Family Hub: Billing users can now manage their Family’s settings in one place, including adding or removing family members, keeping your home address up to date, and adjusting your parental controls.
  • Six Accounts: Spotify Premium Family still provides six individual Spotify Premium accounts for family members living under one roof, meaning you’ll keep your own saved music and playlists.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve the Spotify Premium experience, and the upgraded Premium Family plan brings new features to how families enjoy listening to music and podcasts they love.” said Alex Norström, Chief Premium Business Officer, Spotify.  “At a time where parents are trying to reduce screen time for both themselves and their family, we’re creating more ways for families to bond over music together, while still celebrating individual tastes and giving parents more control if they want it.”

  1. Great article!I personally, totally agree on banning the single use of plastic in malls and other large establishments. I think everyone should practice zero waste management. If everyone would support this advocacy, then maybe the world would be a better place for our children and our children’s children.
