Katy Perry Sued For Copyright Infringement After Posting Paparazzi Photo Of Herself On Instagram

Katy Perry is being sued for sharing a paparazzi photo of herself on social media.

According to court documents obtained by the Blast, Perry is the latest in a long list of celebrities to be hit with a federal lawsuit by Hollywood photo agency Backgrid after she posted a photo of herself dressed as Hillary Clinton to her Instagram account back in 2016.

The photo, which was taken during a Halloween party, included an unnamed individual dressed as Bill Clinton along with the caption: “BILL & HILL 4EVA”.

Backgrid has reportedly been in contact with Perry regarding the matter several times since July 2017 in an effort to settle the dispute.

The agency is suing for copyright infringement and seeking $150,000 in damages.

As of late, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Lopez, 50 Cent, Jessica Simpson and Khloé Kardashian have all been sued for posting unlicensed paparazzi photos to their social media accounts.
