Jeff Price Responds To Abrupt Removal As CEO Of SOCAN owned Audiam

UPDATED: Outspoken Tunecore and Audiam founder Jeff Pice has issued a new statement after his abrupt dismissal as CEO of Audiam charging that owner Canadian PRO SOCAN put its own interests ahead of the company’s mission.

Acquired by SOCAN in 2016, Audiam licenses, monitors and collects digital mechanical and YouTube royalties for music creators and publishers.

After sharing a short initial response, Price issued a full statement:

“I approached SOCAN about three weeks ago asking to work together for my transition out.

In the end, this is the way they decided to proceed.

I am proud of what we accomplished at Audiam and remain committed to the mission that Audiam was founded to pursue. It’s unfortunate that ultimately the interests of SOCAN were allowed to dominate that mission.”
