QUICK HITS: ADA signs Murda Beatz • Warner Chappell adds Tay Iwar • Janelle Curtis joins WMG • Merlin • Logitx • more

Grammy-nominated producer and rapper Murda Beatz has inked a global distribution deal with WMG’s ADA. The first single under the agreement – “One Shot” – debuts today 1/14 featuring Blxst and multi-Platinum rapper Wale.

Warner Chappell Music has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer, Tay Iwar, through its joint venture with The Flight Club.

Iwar is an influential figure within the Nigerian music scene and has collaborated with African stars such as Wizkid, Cruel Santino and M.I. Abaga. He also co-wrote the track ‘System’ for Dave’s number one album We’re All Alone In This Together, and produced M.I’s ‘Do You Know Who You Are?’ the lead single from his album A Study on Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl.

Warner Music Group announced today that Janelle Curtis has joined the company as Chief Enterprise Transformation Officer. She was most recently Managing Director, Global Head of Process Automation, within Global Operations at Bank of America.

Merlin has announced a multi-year deal with Lickd, a platform helping YouTube content creators legally use the music. The partnership injects music from tens of thousands of indie labels and hundreds of thousands of artists into the flow of usable content.

Logitix has named Jed Weitzman as their Head of Music at the ticket company.

Before joining Logitix, Weitzman built the music division for Ticket Evolution and consulted for over 60 major concert tours. Earlier in his career, Weitzman oversaw world tours and licensing deals, working with many of the world’s top artists, including Prince, Dave Matthews, Billy Joel, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, James Taylor, Jane’s Addiction, and Morrissey
