Beatport acquires ampsuite to expand artist, label services

Beatport has acquired ampsuite to power a new suite professional services that help creators and labels grow revenue and audience on its electronic music centered platform.

ampsuite currently provides indie labels with DIY software tools including asset management, accounting and promotion.

Beatport has been growing the services end of its business for several years including the launch of Beatport Hype, which provides emerging electronic labels with access to dedicated promotional space and LabelBase, an information resource and support hub for its label users.

ampsuite will now power Beatport’s professional tools and services while continuing to provide services to other digital retailers. The effort will be managed by Beatport’s Music Services division led by Alex Branson.

Bruce Houghton is Founder and Editor of Hypebot and MusicThinkTank and serves as a Senior Advisor to Bandsintown which acquired both publications in 2019. He is the Founder and President of the Skyline Artists Agency and a professor for the Berklee College Of Music.
