‘Spinning Gold’ chronicles wild rise of Casablanca Records [Timothy Bogart Interview]

What do Donna Summer, Parliament, Gladys Knight, The Isley Brothers, The Village People, and Bill Withers all have in common with the rock band KISS?

They all found success under the watchful ear of one of the music industry’s most colorful and brilliant music executives, Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records.

Along with a ragtag team of young music lovers, Neil and Casablanca Records would rewrite history and change the music industry. Their mix of creative insanity, a total belief in each other, and the music they were creating shaped the culture and defined a generation.

Timothy Bogart joins Michael Brandvold and Jay Gilbert on the Music Biz Weekly podcast to talk about his legendary father and the film Spinning Gold which he wrote and directed.

Spinning Gold opens in theaters nationwide on March 31st.
