Exceleration Music has partnered with the founders of the legendary Rounder Records – Ken Irwin, Marian Leighton Levy, Bill Nowlin, and John Virant – on a new label. Down The Road will launch with releases from Tony Trischka (including a single with Billy Strings), Blue Highway, and Dervish.

Exceleration recently purchased independent distributor Redeye, whose founders, Glenn Dicker and Tor Hansen, got their start at Rounder.

• Indie music distributor Horus has launched Horus Music Publishing as a “simple and easy platform where you can handle your distribution and publishing needs alongside our existing distribution service.”

Sister company Anara Publishing will continue to offer boutique music publishing services for a select roster while the new Horus Music Publishing is available to all artists, with no submission process required.

• BandLab Technologies has added Drew Silverstein as Senior Advisor, AI, Innovation, and Strategy, BandLab Technologies is the parent company of Cakewalk, Airbit, ReverbNation, and social music creation platform, BandLab.

In his new role, Silverstein will drive the company’s initiatives to empower creators with next-generation music-making technology. He joins with experience as the Co-founder and former CEO of Amper Music and former VP of Music at Shutterstock.

• Music creation platform Splice has expanded its AI capabilities with Create, which can generate sophisticated musical arrangements in seconds.

Splice Sounds is a library of loops and sounds featuring more than 300 instruments from 130+ unique genres of music. “The combination of Splice Sounds and Create delivers premium sonic building blocks that can lead to new creative exploration.”
