Hiring? A list of 600+ ‘smart, talented’ laid-off Spotify staffers

Spotify laid off 1500 of its estimated 9000 global workforce earlier this month. That followed a 600-person reduction in January, with 200 more let go in June.

Now, a crowd-sourced list of more than 600 former Spotify staffers hopes to help them find new jobs.

In an email to staff, CEO Daniel Ek acknowledged that the layoffs “will impact a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions” and that “many smart, talented, and hard-working people will be departing us.”

Spotify’s loss could be another music or music tech company’s gain thanks to the database, which includes each person’s skillset, former title, and contact info via LinkedIn.
