Smashing Pumpkins are holding Open Auditions to find a new Guitarist

The Smashing Pumpkins are looking for a new guitarist, and anyone – as in anyone who thinks they can share the stage with Billy Corgan – is welcome to apply.

It’s the kind of creative marketing that has endured the Pumpkins to their fans since the band formed in 1988.

Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin are looking to replace guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who announced his departure from the Smashing Pumpkins after 16 years.

Time is of the essence since the group is supporting Green Day on their global The Saviors Tour and their own with Weezer opening this year.

Worthy guitarists are encouraged to send a resume to Red Light, the Pumpkins’ management company [more details below].

Bruce Houghton is the Founder and Editor of Hypebot, a Senior Advisor at Bandsintown, President of the Skyline Artists Agency, and a Berklee College Of Music professor.
