Subvert is designed as an alternative to Bandcamp collectively owned and run by its community from 54 countries, with 100% ownership reserved for its artists, community, and workers.

Pivotal phase in Subvert’s development

“We’re entering a pivotal phase in Subvert’s development,” writes Subvert founder Austin Robey. “In the coming weeks, our members will begin shaping the platform through direct feedback on designs, prototypes, and features. This isn’t just about gathering opinions. It’s about building with a community and being responsive to the needs of our members from day one..”

Founding Member artists, labels and fans become a co-owner of Subvert and receive:

  • A physical limited edition copy of “Plan for the Artist-Owned Internet” – our 134-page manifesto and blueprint
  • Access to our members-only forum where we’re actively shaping Subvert’s development
  • Early access to platform designs and the chance to influence the interface through direct feedback
  • The opportunity to participate in our upcoming 1:1 interviews, where your insights will directly influence our platform’s features and policies

“By participating early, you’ll help establish the foundation that thousands of artists and supporters will build upon,” says Robey
