This promotion began in March of 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. During Bandcamp Friday the platforms waives its revenue share. That has resulted in millions of fans paying over $120 million directly to labels and musicians.
For all Bandcamp Fridays, Bandcamp recommends that artists and labels:

- Stock your store: Add merch, new music, and curated selections to maximize opportunities for fans to support you.
