Breaking Sound, StrmMusic expand Artist Showcases to 100 cities
Emerging artist series Breaking Sound will expand artists showcases into the US and is partnering with global artist accelerator StrmMusic.
StrmMusic will begin curating talent across Breaking Sound‘s 100+ monthly showcases in more than 100 markets. Showcase cities are spread across Europe, Canada, Australia and now 12 cities in the US including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, LA and Nashville.

Later this summer, the pair will host a series of online workshops and self-paced educational materials that encourage artists to craft a stronger live strategy. They’ll also begin sharing data to help artists find the right places to play.
Curated showcases will never be the sole solution to building an audience and live music career. But much like Sofar, Breaking Sound offers emerging artists solid venues alongside other vetted artists – as well as perhaps a light stamp of approval.
“We’ve seen how live shows change the way potential fans feel about artists they’ve just met. It’s something that happens regularly at Breaking Sound showcases,” says Calvin Golspink, Breaking Sound founder and CEO. “Live showcases can catalyze music careers, and this partnership will offer more chances for this to happen.”
“unparalleled opportunities for live-music growth”
StrmMusic uses data to help emerging artists target their career growth efforts, and now that includes live. “By joining forces with Breaking Sound, we can offer our artists unparalleled opportunities for live-music growth and visibility in cooperation with a partner that really gets what emerging artists need,” says Geoff Cubitt, CEO, North America of StrmMusic.
The partnership kicks off July 15th with a showcase at LA’s Peppermint Club featuring performances from Mark Pelli (Magic!), Alex Charles, Tanner Howe, and a surprise guest.
There is no charge for artist to showcase who can submit to perform here.
