SoundExchange distributions topped $242.5M in Q2 2025

SoundExchange distributions topped $241.5 million in digital royalties to creators from April to June 2025. Combined with the $253.2 million distributed in the first quarter of the year, ir annual distributions for the first half of 2025 are $494.7 million.

Since 2003, SoundExchange distributions topped more than $12 billion – a milestone reached in February of this year – directly to more than 700,000 music creators.

SoundExchange is the only U.S. entity designated by Congress to administer the Section 114 sound recording license which include SiriusXM, streaming radio and lean back music services like Pandora. SoundExchange collects and distributes these royalties to artists and rights owners
