With 400 million monthly users, Threads could pass X next year
Threads could pass X next year. Now surpassing 400 million monthly active users, according to Meta, that’s an increase of 50 million MAUs since April.
By comparison X still has more than 600 million monthly active users, according to statements made by its former CEO, Linda Yaccarino.
If this growth rate continues, Threads could pass X next year.
Recent improvements to Threads include the addition of DMs, fediverse integrations, custom feeds and AI-powered summaries of trending topics.
“As of a few weeks ago [there are] more than 400 million people active on Threads every month,” posted Instagram head Adam Mosseri. “It’s been quite the ride over the last two years. This started as a zany idea to compete with Twitter, and has evolved into a meaningful platform that fosters the open exchange of perspectives. I’m grateful to all of you for making this place what it is today. There’s so much work to do from our side, more to come.”
