Berklee Touring 101: Learn How To Build A Career Performing Live
With musicians and venues struggling under increased costs and competition, performing profitably is difficult. So it has never been more important to learn how to build and sustain a successful touring career.
Touring 101 from the Berklee College of Music’s online school was designed to do just that.
This college level course is written and taught by Hypebot Editor and live music industry professional Bruce Houghton. A booking agent for more than 30 years, Houghton is also a Senior Advisor to top global live music discovery platform Bandsintown. He is also a co-founder of the National Independent Talent Organization (NITO).

Created both for musicians and those who work with them, the course offers a journey from the earliest gigs through a first national tour. Students learn how to create a memorable live performance, book, negotiate, and market the right shows. They also learn to capture a loyal fan base, and build a success story that can expand an entire career.
The next semester of Touring 101 at Berklee Online starts on September 29 . There’s still time to enroll and the course is repeated each semester.
There is also a free Touring 101 sampler course available. This short four-lesson free Berklee Coursera course offers some of the key lessons and strategies from the Berklee Online Touring 101 degree and certificate course.
