One Night Live, new touring model for emerging artists returns
One Night Live, a collaborative effort to support emerging artists and small independent music venues is back with its second tour.
Like its debut tour earlier this year, One Night Live is produced by three organizations committed to strengthening the live music ecosystem. New is Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future which helps Northeast Ohio artists expand beyond their hometown by offering incubation and development programs. They join the Live Music Society, which has awarded $4.8 million in grants to 201 U.S. small independent live venues since 2020 and D-TOUR, a network of independent venues and promoters.
The nonprofit Music Cities Together is also supporting this second tour by connecting the routing with music advocates in each location and the Fan Alliance, is partnering with Kid Tigrrr to engage with local fans.
“Our mission is to educate fans on the issues facing working artists, to create a fair and equitable music economy,” “said Donald Cohen, founder of the Fan Alliance, “One Night Live gets that by providing support to both the artists and the venues.”

Each show will feature Kid Tigrrr alongside local and regional artists selected through incubator partners in each market. Local incubator artists include Midtopia’s Lily Detae, joining Kid Tigrrr at Berlin in NYC on November 8.
A Cleveland incubator alum, Fournier has been involved in shaping the tour including curating venues and support acts as well as designing the marketing. The tour will also support the debut album, “Stoned + Animald.”
A New Touring Model For Artists & Venues
Musicians and venues both face rising costs and increased competition. With fewer resources available, including record labels funding early-stage development, artists and venues are now subsidizing costs.
64% of U.S. independent live venues reported losing money in 2024 according to the recent NIVA State Of Live survey partially funded by Live Music Society. UK research showed that a $15 ticketed show for an emerging artist requires more than $36 per ticket to produce.
Without fresh thinking and external support, the current system is unsustainable. By investing in both artists and venues and cultivating relationships with local incubators, One Night Live is working to provide new opportunities.
“We continue to build and scale One Night Live with this second tour, so that we can bring additional support to the small venues in our network, discover new venues, and actively engage beyond our grant programs to connect stages with new talent,” said Cat Henry, Executive Director of Live Music Society.
