From A2IM: In the issue dated July 25, 2015, Billboard reported mid-year market share numbers – Indies continue to be #1 based on copyright ownership, the only appropriate market share definition.

Billboard reported 2014’s Independent market share at 35.1%, while the 2015 mid-year report figures are 35.4%. Independents continue to gain more and more share and remain the largest industry segment.

Independent artist Taylor Swift (Big Machine) is also the top album of the year so far with 2 million albums and TEAs sold.
