Instagram has expanded its video uploads from 30 to 60-seconds on Reels, the platform’s TikTok competitor.

It’s not a revolutionary change by any measure, but 60 seconds will mean that creators will likely upload more of their videos to multiple social video platforms.

YouTube Shorts and Snapchat’s Spotlight also support videos of up to 60 seconds.

TikTok recently started allowing videos up to three minutes long.
