The Facebook-owned photo and video sharing app Instagram has surpassed 600 million monthly active users. That's a 100 million user jump in the just six months. Previously, it had taken the social network 9 months to add every 100 million users.

But Instagram is still the smallest of Facebooks' networks, suggesting that there's still plenty of room to grow.
