Over the weekend, "It" based on a novel by Stephen King, added $60.0M in revenue in North America and $120.3M worldwide, with an impressive total cumulative 2-week tally of $371.3 million. mother! Debuting at #2 in North America and the #3 spot worldwide was Lionsgate's spy thriller "American Assassin." Directed by Michael Cuesta, and starring Dylan O'Brien, Michael Keaton, and Sanaa Lathan, the film is an adaptation of Vince Flynn's 2010 novel of the same name.

In its debut weekend, "American Assassin" chalked up a thin $14.8 million in North America and $21 million worldwide. mother! Fox’s "War For The Planet Of The Apes" made a splash when it opened in China this week, adding $63.2m over the weekend and pushing its worldwide cume over $287m.
