Jay Gilbert is stepping aside as cohost of the popular Music Biz Weekly podcast after 500 episodes. Mike Brandvold, who released the first episode in 2011, a decade before current podcast boom, will continue as host.
Both Brandvold and Gilbert are experienced music marketers and they've shared their experiences along with the latest tips, tools, and trends each week on the podcast.
Gilbert also recently concluded the Billboard Behind the Setlist podcast following the departure of co-host Glenn Peoples in the trade's recent round of layoffs. Additionally, he stepping back from Label Logic, the artists and label services firm he co-founded with Jeff Moskow.
These transitions will allow Gilbert to expand his work with college level music business programs, select consulting and his weekly Your Morning Coffee newsletter and podcast.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the audience, guests, and partners who joined us on Music Biz Weekly over the years,” said Jay Gilbert. “The show has been a fantastic platform for DIY and developing artists to learn about the business of music, celebrate industry minds, and share insights."
