A group of major label and RIAA lawyers have held at least three settlement conferences, including one on Wednesday, with representatives of Limewire according to a federal court docket entry. The two sides are working to reach an agreement instead of waiting for a jury award, says the Wall Street Journal.
During court proceedings last week, LimeWire went on the offensive in an attempt to prove that the labels themselves and not p2P were to blame for the drop in record sales. Limewire used damaging emails and statements from top executives to make their case.
