Riaa-logoThe Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced that Mitch Glazier will helm the major label trade association after current Chairman and CEO Cary Sherman retires in January 2019.  Glazier, currently SVP at the RIAA, has been named President of the organization in the interim.Before joining the RIAA, Glazier was Chief Counsel for intellectual property to the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.Sherman, who has been with the RIAA for 20 years, exits at a time of both upheaval and renewed success for the music industry. Copyright reform and radio performance royalties are just two of the major issues likely to be addressed by the Republican controlled Congress.
