Mufin.com, a flexible and portable music discovery engine has launched in public beta. The company has 4 million songs in its database and its fingerprinting technology offers recommendations based on a song’s unique musical characteristics. Updates since the private beta release in September:
- Mufin for Facebook: Access through Facebook via a widget and a Discovery Wall that lets fans share discoveries
- Mufin for iTunes: Users can use mufin’s discovery to generate playlists based on any track in their library
- Mufin doesn’t rely on metadata or an artist’s popularity
- Share recommendations through email
- Save playlists and notepads
- Editorial recommendations
