Writing regularly at Hypebot has inspired me to relaunch Music Biz Blogs, a site designed to help folks discover and follow music business blogs. The single page site features a combined newsfeed of 45 blogs with more on the way. The list of blogs is included in the sidebar and a Google Custom Search Engine is available for searching that list. It should be a useful tool for anyone interested in the music industry whether to follow daily news or just to find some interesting blogs.
For those who don't want to visit the site to track news, there's an rss feed featuring headlines and brief snippets of posts and an email newsletter with the same. Feel free to run the feed on your site, if you wish. The main downside of the feed and newsletter is that they do not identify the originating blog though they do link directly to the original post.
In addition to the above, Music Biz Blogs includes a sidebar widget for my Twitter list of Music Biz Linkmasters.
My inclusion criteria eliminates some otherwise solid blogs. The major criteria is quality content that is primarily focused on the industry. Too many off-topic posts or personal chat on tweets disqualifies you as does having a feed that redates all included posts with the day's dates, thus pushing them to the top of the blogstream. A handful of great blogs have been excluded but, overall, MBB has a solid mix.
Though all links go to the original sources and only enough content is excerpted to give readers an idea of what the post is about, if you don't want your blog included, I'll be more than happy to pull it.
