Superfan platform Mellomanic (formerly We Are Giant) has announced the closing of a $6 million funding round, bringing the total capital raised to $13.8 million dollars.

Superfan platform Mellomanic (formerly We Are Giant) has announced the closing of a $6 million funding round, bringing the total capital raised to $13.8 million dollars.

Mellomanic offers exclusive listening parties and community tools that connect fans and artists via digital events, in a safe and community-centric space.

Mellomanic currently has over 400,000 monthly active users on the platform and hosted events with Atlantic Records, Big Loud, Def Jam, Elektra, Sony Music Nashville, and Virgin Music Group.

Cargo Records UK, Beggars Group and Secretly Distribution have partnered to create a new independent UK distribution company Cargo Independent Distribution (CID).

Secretly and Beggars will be supporting CID’s investments in technological development and new personnel, as well as providing strategic direction.

Cargo Independent Distribution will maintain its UK/Ireland fulfillment relationship with Proper/Utopia, and CID will continue to provide global physical, digital, and marketing services to its Cargo UK’s distributed client roster, which includes Fire Records, Hyperdub, Planet Mu, and Sub Pop as well as physical distribution and sales support to Secretly Group and its affiliates, as well as sales representation to Beggars Group partner labels.

Audoo – the music recognition technology and data company working on public performance royalties for music creators, licensees and businesses— added  Steve Clark, COO of Round Hill Music, Isabel Garvey, COO of Warner Music UK, and Sean O’Malley, CEO & Founder of Regard Music to its Board of Advisors.

They join existing advisors, Cliff Fluet, Partner at Lewis Silkin, and former CEO of Syneos Health, Alistair Macdonald.

Believe announces the appointment of Henri Jamet as Managing Director for France.

Believe reinforces its leadership team with a veteran of the local industry, who served as the Director of powerhouse labels AllPoints, Morning Glory, naïve and Animal 63.

Henri takes over from Romain Vivien, who was promoted to President of Europe and Global Head of Music and will report directly to him.
