While the premium tier typically costs $9.99 a month, the new trial aims to win over paid subscribers following the success of Apple Music’s free trial which effectively netted 6.5 million paid users.Additionally, Spotify estimates that users of their ad-supported service could surpass 100 million monthly users by the end of 2015.

This year’s findings revealed Ed Sheeran to be the most streamed artist of all time with more than 3 billion streams from over 59 million different listeners. Among the artists included, Drake was the most streamed artist of 2015 and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind The Madness took the title of most streamed album of the year.
