As lifestyles shift to active mode this summer, so will time spent on listening to audio, a medium they can consume wherever they go, according to a new survey.

A survey by research and analytics platform Vertonic of the listening habits of 600 regular streaming audio and podcast listeners found that nearly eight in ten respondents (78%) said that they are likely to listen when they are outside this summer, with 50% listening at the beach and 65% listening during other outdoor activities.
77% said they tune into streaming music, podcasts, or music during summer road trips.
During those road trips, music streaming beats radio and podcasts: streaming audio with 72%, podcasts at 63%, and AM/FM radio at 58%.
