In another announcement coming from CES, INTENT MediaWorks will be working with Nettwerk Music to digitally distribute Nettwerk’s catalog of artists which includes Barenaked Ladies,
Sarah McLachlan and
Avril Lavigne.
INTENT puts licensed music and video into circulation via a
variety of web sites, P2P’s and social network sites. Consumers still share music and video freely, but INTENT’s technology tracks each file so artists know how widely each file is
spreading. With INTENT, consumers get licensed music and video on their
terms while artists and companies increase exposure and revenue. INTENT sometimes inserts advertising but it was not clear if that was how Nettwerk intends to monetize the partenrship
