Linguists are divided over whether or not "Zune" sounds like the profanity "fuck" in Hebrew, but Tsila Ratner, of the Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at University College London, says Zune is an "unsuitable" name.
Microsoft chimed in, “While we do acknowledge the similarity in pronunciation to Hebrew "zi-yun", that is not the intended meaning of the name Zune”. Some fellow bloggers have suggested that if you say Zune to rhyme with iTunes you’ve found the offending pronunciation."
Unless Microsoft improves the soon to be released product, who gives a zune?
