Like it's broadcast radio station competitors, Pandora wants to be available everywhere: smartphone, computer or car. Today they've improved their connect to one of most consumer's most ubiquitous devices – the television.
The new tv.pandora.com was designed from scratch for the television set and remote control. It will launch initially on the XBox 360 or Playstation 3 with more devices to be added.
"It’s also a completely new approach," said Pandora, "which will allow us to evolve the “10 foot” experience of Pandora with greater flexibility and speed than ever before".
"As consumers have embraced flat screen TV’s and home theater speakers, the center of gravity for music in the home shifted from the family stereo to the television," according to Pandora. Even before today's launch of tv.pandora, according to stats shared by the company today, more than 10 million listeners have streamed the service via internet-connected television.
