Advertising, and the profit made from it, on sites that offer or link to unauthorized and uncompensated content has long been major problem for the music industry. A new report, "Good Money Gone Bad" published by the Digital Citizens Alliance, estimates that the major pirate sites generate $227 million in yearly ad revenue including major brands like Amazon, McDonalds and Xfinity.
