Jim Donio, President of NARM, shares the stats from this week’s sales report issued by Nielsen SoundScan: "Queens of the Stone Age set several sales milestones this week, notching its first #1 album with …Like Clockwork. It was also the first #1 record for the band’s label, Matador Records. It’s also notable that 13% of its total sales, 12,000 units, were from vinyl."

"The format’s continuing vitality has been remarkable, and I believe it will continue to show growth among a wide range of music fans," continued Donio.

Sales Drop

Overall album sales volume is down 5% compared to last year, while digital track sales volume is down 3% from 2012.
