While some including Taylor Swift are still active there, most moved on long ago.Now Tumblr has been sold to Automattic, the company behind WordPress for what the Wall Street Journal calls a “nominal amount”. In 2013, Yahoo acquired Tumblr for $1.1 billion, with Verizon the platform's (and Yahoo's) latest owner.As part of the deal, Automattic will gain 200 staffers from Tumblr.What To ExpectExecutives at both Tumblr and Automattic say they will “look for ways WordPress.com and Tumblr can share services and functionality.” I wouldn't expect any immediate changes, however.
