A report that SoundCloud would be taking down DJ mixes in the wake of its deal with the 3 major label groups is totally false. And its not the first time that this same publication has printed sensational stories based on inaccurate and unnamed sources.

"The story has no truth to it," the company told Billboard. "At SoundCloud, we're on a mission to create a place where all creativity can live. SoundCloud's creator community, including DJs, is incredibly important to us.

Last week the same site, Digital Music News, published a false story that iTunes has set a timetable to stop selling downloads via iTunes. A usually silent Apple quickly denied the article.
